Planning in Meath

Planning in Meath is handled by Meath County Council. Garden rooms up to 25 sqm at the rear of a house are generally exempt where the conditions are met; new dwellings and separately let units require a full application. We know the Meath development plan and design to fit within exemptions where possible, or to support a clean application where required.

Back Garden Entertainment Pod — County Meath

Back Garden Entertainment Pod

A stunning wine bar and lounge pod — the ultimate garden entertainment destination for hosting friends and family.

This garden pod was designed as a dedicated entertainment destination — a wine bar and lounge for hosting friends and family throughout the year. We worked with the client to create a space that feels like a boutique hotel bar rather than a garden shed, with a fitted bar counter, under-counter refrigeration, ambient lighting and comfortable lounge seating. The pod is fully insulated for year-round use, meaning it works as well on a winter evening as it does on a summer afternoon. Because it sits within the exempted development limits for a garden structure, no planning permission was required, and the unit was delivered and installed with minimal disruption to the garden.
